Ticketsource named one of Wales’ fastest growing businesses

Box office software provider Ticketsource has been named as one of the fastest growing businesses in Wales.

The company was ranked 20th on the Barclays-sponsored Fast Growth 50 list for 2016, which assesses companies over a three-year period.

Ticketsource, based near Cardiff, has been used by more than 16,000 event organisers since it was founded in 2004. Now operating in the UK, Europe and North America, it has achieved an increase in revenue of 180 per cent from 2013 to 2015.

The company offers event organisers a free box office app, which they can add to their website and social media platforms. It also offers a comprehensive outsourcing service, which handles ticketing operations and telephone bookings.

“Ticketsource is used by event organisers and venues worldwide ranging from schools, colleges and amateur groups, to large professional theatres, concert halls, sports venues and outdoor festivals,” founder and chief executive Simon Wilsher told the Penarth Times newspaper.

“In responding to their feedback and meeting very diverse needs over the past 12 years, we have ended up with one of the most versatile ticketing systems anywhere in the world, hence our increase in international clients.

“However the UK is still our primary focus and business here is growing faster than ever, mostly as a result of word of mouth, and in some very unusual sectors. For example, we seem to have become the system of choice for many of the UK’s larger seasonal event organisers with Halloween events, firework displays, Christmas concerts, Santa’s Grottos and Winter Wonderland skating rinks popping up all over the country.”
