Giant Fimalac buys Bandsquare platform

Webedia owner Fimalac has acquired audience analytics platform Bandsquare.

The Paris and Los Angeles-based firm, which was founded three years ago, allows artists and other organisations to link up with their community of fans through social networks.

The platform has been absorbed by French conglomerate Fimalac’s AP2S subsidiary, the technology company that offers ticketing software. AP2S will create a new B2C vertical following the 100-per-cent acquisition.

Bandsquare’s more than 1,000 clients, including Live Nation and Vivendi Talents, sports clubs, event organisers and YouTubers, have attracted more than 100,000 users. Partners use the platform to gather analytics that can influence touring and ticketing decisions.

“It’s about analysing data from social networks and converting them into events,” said Chloé Julien, co-founder of Bandsquare.
