StubHub becomes official ticketing partner of Northampton Saints

StubHub has extended its partnership with Northampton Saints by becoming the English Premiership rugby union club’s official ticketing partner.

StubHub, which was previously an Elite Sponsor of Saints, will integrate its platform with the event ticketing software from SAP to offer fans new features such as ticket transferability and the ability to log into online accounts through Facebook.

The partnership will allow season-ticket holders to resell their seat or terrace spots for games they cannot attend through StubHub, setting their own prices and managing their own account.

Single-game ticket holders will also be able to resell tickets through the StubHub platform. These tickets will be available as downloadable PDFs, on smartphones to scan at the turnstiles, or as traditional paper versions, with purchasers of re-sold tickets also able to receive their ticket via email for the first time.

Through the partnership, the ticketing company will benefit from StubHub branding on all backroom playing staff computers on match days.

“We’re very excited to be partnering up with StubHub once again,” said Saints commercial director Brian Facer. “Comments from our supporters had been that our ticketing website needed to provide a smooth process for booking match tickets and season tickets, so we conducted an extensive review of every type of software available on the market.

“The SAP event ticketing software used by StubHub is second to none and will give us the flexibility to be fully responsive to all our supporters, whether they have been at Franklin’s Gardens for years as a season-ticket holder or are coming to us for the first time.

“StubHub will also give us the ability to reach a larger audience, something which is crucial as we look to expand as a club in the future, turning more people into Saints supporters and underpinning the investment into the playing effort.”

Earlier in the year, StubHub also renewed its partnership deal with the body that operates the top tier of rugby union in England, Premiership Rugby. Under the new agreement, StubHub provides rugby fans with a platform to buy and sell tickets for the 2017 Premiership Rugby final for the fourth year in a row. The event is set to take place on May 27.
