Spotify launches RapCaviar Live tour dates with Live Nation

Spotify, the music streaming service, has linked up with Live Nation to extend its reach into the live music world with the launch of the ‘RapCaviar Live’ concert series.

One of Spotify’s top playlists, RapCaviar, is linking up with Live Nation to launch a six-date US hip-hop tour.

The playlist, which has more than seven million followers, is the second biggest global playlist behind Today’s Top Hits, according to official Spotify statistics.

‘RapCaviar Live’ is listed as “featuring the heaviest hitters and hottest emerging artists in rap”. The concert series will kick off with Gucci Mane (pictured) and Mike WiLL Made in Atlanta, Georgia on August 12.

Other upcoming locations include Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York and Toronto. Additional dates, artists and venues will be announced soon.

“Proud to partner with Gucci Mane on this incarnation of the RapCaviar vibe,” said Tuma Basa, head of hip-hop at Spotify.

“Gucci was an early believer in what we are doing and it’s gonna be beautiful to see it manifest live. Taking RapCaviar on the road was just a dream for us a few years ago. This is an important milestone for Spotify, for RapCaviar, and for hip-hop in the streaming age.”

Pre-sale tickets are now available to special Spotify Superfans, Citi Card members and through both LiveNation.com and Ticketmaster.com.

In addition, Spotify recently partnered with ticketing platform AXS to install a direct ticket feed embedded within the apps.

Spotify users are now provided with access to more than 25,000 annual music events ticketed by AXS globally.

The direct ticket feed will be both on desktop and mobile apps, giving fans fast access to purchase tickets. Listeners will also receive personalised recommendations for live events in their area.
