Ticketmaster offers ticket discounts to Schlesinger class action members

Ticketmaster is offering discounts to customers who bought tickets from them between 1999 and 2013 in its latest response to the Schlesinger class action lawsuit.

According to Digital Music News, in a decision relating to the Curt Schlesinger class action lawsuit against Ticketmaster filed in 2003, the company has issued ‘Ticket Vouchers’ to class members.  Class members, which is anyone who bought tickets between October 1999 and February 2013, will also receive a $5 UPS discount code, along with a $2.25 discount code for future ticket purchases.  The discount codes will remain valid until June 2020.

Each class member is to receive one discount code for each Ticketmaster purchase made during the class period, up to a maximum of 17 discount codes.

The Schlesinger lawsuit alleged that Ticketmaster had failed to fully disclose all aspects of its UPS and order processing fees. The Live Nation-owned firm settled the case back in 2013, and initially opened a large number of free tickets to fans in 2016.

In a statement on its website referring to Schlesinger, Ticketmaster said: “Class members will receive ticket vouchers that may potentially be redeemed for eligible general admission concert tickets at designated Live Nation owned or operated venues, subject to availability and limitations.

“Additionally, at Live Nation’s discretion, the events selected may also include Live Nation clubs such as the House of Blues. It is not contemplated by the settlement that Live Nation will make available any tickets for concerts that it promotes in third party buildings, including arenas and stadiums.”
