Bruno Mars tops US tour sales this autumn – StubHub

Bruno Mars is the biggest draw for concert goers in the US according to new data released by StubHub.

The Uptown Funk and That’s What I Like singer comes out top in terms of top-selling act and top-selling act per show. The figures represent tour dates between Labor Day in May and Thanksgiving in November.

Bruno Mars is the biggest seller on the ticketing site for his 35 show dates, with Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney and U2 making up the top 5.

In per-show terms, Mars leads Sheeran, U2, Billy Joel and McCartney. Four of the top 10 biggest single dates this autumn are Mars shows.

Total sales for the fall leg of Bruno Mars’ 24K Gold Tour are nearly double that of Sheeran, whose own shows are double that of Lady Gaga.

StubHub said that while U2 topped this year’s summer top-10 list, the autumn tour scene continues its historical shift toward pop – with Taylor Swift and Adele having led the way during this period in the last two years.

“This fall, the touring lineup is really led by pop acts,” said Jessica Erskine, head of US consumer communications for StubHub.

“Beside some more contemporary acts, we see some classic acts like Paul McCartney, U2 and Billy Joel who always make this list when they hit the road as their legacies and large music catalogues make for a can’t-miss show, time and time again.”
