Patron Technology jumps on Ticketleap purchase

Patron Technology, the new parent company of PatronManager, has made its first acquisition through the purchase of Ticketleap.

Patron Technology has been established to oversee PatronManager, a CRM platform for arts and culture, and the event ticketing service ShowClix.

It has now added Ticketleap, an online self-service ticket sales and event marketing company, to its portfolio. Ticketleap will operate independently under Patron Technology and will be led by general manager Chrisse Dragon.

Patron Technology is a subsidiary of Providence Equity Partners, which TheTicketingBusiness understands is likely to make further acquisitions in the ticketing vertical in coming months.

Speaking about the Ticketleap acquisition, Dragon said: “Patron Technology serves as the ideal platform for Ticketleap to accelerate its position in the marketplace and continue to build on its strong customer relationships.

“We look forward to our continued growth in the DIY ticketing business and pursuing this unique opportunity to work alongside leading companies such as ShowClix and PatronManager.”

PatronManager provides arts, culture, and live entertainment organisations with integrated CRM, box office ticketing, fundraising, and marketing solutions. It is used by over 700 organisations in the US and Canada, including symphony orchestras, theatres, opera companies, dance companies, university performing arts centres, and museums.

ShowClix provides full-service event ticketing and access control solutions to professional event organisers around the world. Founded in 2007, ShowClix, which can be tailored for any event, aims to help professionals sell more tickets and create memorable experiences for their customers.

Philadelphia-based Ticketleap is a company that advocates for “getting social” to build relationships in person through events. The company has helped event creators sell over 30 million tickets to various events by providing DIY box office solutions to customers across the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

Eugene Carr, chief executive of Patron Technology, said: “Patron Technology drives momentum across the digital ticketing industry.

“The approach of aligning complementary platforms provides each company the ability to focus on growth within each of their key industry segments while continuing to foster their clients’ development of stronger relationships with their patrons.

“We are excited about our new structure, our new partners, and our unwavering support from Providence, and believe that all of these elements will only accelerate our success.”
