Dice rolls into US market

Mobile ticket and event discovery app Dice is to expand its service to the US after announcing its launch in California.

The company has spread its platform throughout the UK since it was founded in 2014, offering fans tickets for gigs, clubs and festivals.

It recently helped Islington Assembly Hall become the first UK venue to only sell tickets digitally.

Tickets acquired via Dice cannot be resold through secondary agents, as patrons must show the ticket on the app on their mobile on entry. The company also does not charge booking fees.

The US launch comes after Dice last year announced that $6m (£4.5m/€5m) of new investment would help fund its expansion in Europe and North America.

In a statement directed to music fans, the company said: “Now we’re happy to announce that we’re bringing Dice to the USA. Starting first in LA and San Francisco, we’re going to continue to do what we do best — put you, the fans, first.

“Today is day one, but watch the app as it grows to thousands of the best shows throughout the USA.”

The company is already promoting shows featuring Sam Smith, Khalid and Matthew Dear, as well as Vevo’s Halloween event in San Francisco.
