Reading celebrates 500th game at Madejski Stadium with £5 tickets

Five-pound tickets are on sale for every home and away fan to celebrate Championship football team Reading’s 500th fixture at its Madejski Stadium home ground.

The club’s final home fixture of 2017 on December 23 is against Burton Albion. All four stands will be open to supporters for 500p or £5 ($6.62/€5.64) to observe ‘Madejski 500’.

Reading moved to its current home in August 1998 and christened the venue with a 3-0 win against Luton Town. The club said in a statement that its era at Madejski Stadium has been “by far the most successful in Reading’s 146-year story so far.”

Most recently, Reading made it to the 2016-17 Championship play-off final against Huddersfield, after beating Fulham in the semi-final at Wembley Stadium.

Season ticket holders that attend the festive fixture will benefit from 50 Royals Rewards points, with 500 of those in attendance to be randomly selected to receive an additional 500 bonus Royals Rewards points on their cards.

Royals Rewards is a scheme designed to reward loyal fans, with saved points to be redeemed for a host of products and experiences courtesy of the club and its partners.

The club is calling for fans to stay tuned to the official website and social media streams for information on more #Madejski500 activities that will take place at the landmark December 23 game.
