Spektrix’s show-stealing 2017

Spektrix saw a double-digit rise in revenue, and cross-the-board growth in 2017, as it celebrated 10 years since its founding.

The ticketing technology company posted revenues of £6.46m during the year, which was up 28 per cent on 2016.

Spektrix added 57 new clients, which pushed its customer base to 334, while the company’s international headcount grew by 40 per cent to 92.

New UK clients include the Victoria Theatre Halifax, Leeds Town Hall, Kilimanjaro Live, Perth Theatre & Concert Halls. Wins in North America include Two River Theatre, WaterTower Theatre, Long Wharf Theatre and Canada’s PuSh Festival.

“We chose Spektrix to take our box office and fundraising services in an exciting new direction,” said Gareth Tottle, information systems manager at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. “We’ve been impressed with the results and are looking forward to working with the Spektrix team in 2018 and beyond.”

Founded in 2007 by chief executive Michael Nabarro and chief technology officer Matt Scarisbrick, Spektrix is a cloud-based box office management software for the arts, encompassing ticketing, direct marketing, fundraising and customer relationship management (CRM).

Last year, Spektrix compiled a report that showed arts and theatre ticket buyers are seeing prices drop by more than a quarter in the two months leading up to a show. It obtained data from the more than 100 arts organisations and venues it partners with in the UK to produce the Spektrix Benchmark Report 2017.
