BBC Biggest Weekend fest signs Ticketmaster

Ticketmaster has been signed as the exclusive ticketing partner of BBC Music’s The Biggest Weekend.

The music festival will take place on four sites, in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, over four days across the late May bank holiday weekend and attract 175,000 visitors.

Ticketmaster said it was selected to provide its “state-of-the-art technology” for the festival’s ticketing requirements in the lead up and during the weekend across all four sites in Belfast, Coventry, Perth and Swansea.

Swansea will be the only site to fully utilise Ticketmaster’s paperless ticketing technology.

Acts that have been confirmed for the event taking place from May 25-28 include Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Snow Patrol, Beck, Billy Ocean and Manic Street Preachers.

Andrew Parsons, managing director of Ticketmaster UK, said: “Arguably the biggest event of 2018, BBC Music’s The Biggest Weekend will bring the world’s top artists to audiences across the UK.

“We are incredibly proud that Ticketmaster’s experience in facilitating events of this scale has been recognised in such a way, and our teams right across the country look forward to providing fans with a seamless ticketing experience.”

Tickets for The Biggest Weekend go on sale on February 12.
