Twickets to offer resale on Facebook

Twickets has launched its official Facebook app for fans to access the face-value resale site directly through the social media platform.

The secondary marketing function is embedded in participating artists’ Facebook page and is accessible from a new “Ticket Resale” section on the main toolbar.

Several acts have utilised the app including Ed Sheeran, George Ezra, Noel Gallagher and The Streets.

“We’re really exciting to be taking Twickets directly to Facebook users for the first time,” said Twickets founder Richard Davies.

“By embedding our app into artist pages it will aid the discovery process for fans previously unaware of an alternative to the abusive secondary ticket market. With over 150 artist and event partners to date this is a significant move, and we appreciate the continued support we receive from them all.”

Twickets, which launched in the US in October and New Zealand in November, announced an integration with ticketing platform Eventbrite in November.

In addition, Facebook has also penned integrations with AXS and Eventbrite.

Facebook has not outlined a corporate strategy for sports and entertainment ticketing but it has inked a number of alliances with ticketing platforms and rights-holders in recent months.
