Tixserve brings in former Live Nation exec Chambers

Industry veteran Tim Chambers has joined the board of the new B2B digital ticketing platform Tixserve.

Chambers, who has worked in the live entertainment market for more than 20 years, was the vice-president of European development at Ticketmaster and senior vice president of international corporate development for Live Nation.

In addition, Chambers founded TicketWeb in the UK, which is an online ticketing agency now owned by Ticketmaster.

Chambers said: “The live entertainment sector is often slow to adopt the benefits of new technologies. It no longer makes sense to rely solely on paper tickets – especially when you look at the tremendous capabilities of a secure Tixserve digital ticket.”

The Tixserve technology enables its business clients to securely transform the ticketing experience to a paperless system, as well as regulate the exchange of tickets and prevent unauthorised resale.

Tixserve also claims to eliminate ticket fraud including the practice of selling duplicate printed tickets, reduce event ticket printing and distribution costs, and generate new revenue opportunities via bespoke, content-rich, interactive digital ticket delivered to smartphones.

Chambers added: “The future of ticketing must incorporate seamless digital distribution with mobile authentication, and enhanced consumer services including event timings, line-ups and biographies, location maps, with added value merchandise up-sale opportunities. Tixserve does all of this, and more.”

The proprietary ‘track and trace’ technology developed by Tixserve aims to tackle the resale problem experienced by high profile events by enabling organisers to know for certain who exactly is holding a ticket. It also empowers artists, promoters, and sports event organisers to decide whether a ticket can be exchanged or resold.

The tech company has secured €250,000 in funding from Enterprise Ireland as part of its High Potential Start-Up programme.

Co-founder and managing director of Tixserve, Patrick Kirby, said: “Tim Chambers brings a rich international experience and will help to steer the company as we target large global opportunities in the live event ticketing industry.

“The Tixserve digital ticket fulfilment platform is a secure white label solution that can be used by existing ticket sellers to enhance the experience for ticket-purchasers, reduce costs and generate new revenue streams.

“Since our launch in 2017, we have successfully concluded a number of extensive private field trials with well-known venues and ticket agents in the United Kingdom and Ireland and we look forward to announcing details of commercial partnerships with these clients very soon.”
