Swiss ticketing platform Ticketfrog has rebranded as Eventfrog after securing the investment required for further growth.
A third financing round that raised a reported single-digit million figure has given the startup company the means to extend the platform, expand to Germany and boost its services.
The renaming of itself as Eventfrog is to cover its expanded business. The platform can now be used by third parties, allowing cities, the media and tourist organisations to provide a complete calendar on their websites without the effort of compiling the events or purchasing the technology required.
Ticketfrog was recently presented with the Disruptor Award at TheTicketingBusiness Forum Awards 2018.
Ticketfrog provides an online platform financed by advertising that allows event organisers to sell tickets free of charge.
The company said in a statement: “It is designed for organisers of smaller events who cannot afford electronic ticketing solutions.
“However, the platform has developed into a one-stop shop for event organisers, with more than 20,000 active events, which the firm claims makes it the biggest event calendar in Switzerland.”
In a further development, Eventfrog has launched an event app with filter functions that gives users complimentary access to its event calendar.
