Ticket ballot opens for ICC Champions Trophy 2017

ICC

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has today (Thursday) opened the ticket ballot for the 2017 edition of its Champions Trophy national team tournament.

The ballot will remain open for 30 days until 20:00 BST on September 30, with fans able to submit an application for as many games as they wish.

Upon the conclusion of the application period, Ticketmaster will then run all oversubscribed applications through a ballot draw and applicants will be sent notifications from early October.

Successful applicants will have to purchase every ticket they applied for during the application process, with the money to be debited from the payment details they provided at the time of submitting requests.

The competition will take place in England and Wales from June 1-18.

ICC chief executive David Richardson said: “To ensure that cricket fans have the best possible opportunity to follow their favourite teams at three fantastic venues, we have opted to run a ballot and to keep ticket prices affordable.

“Making tickets available nine months out from the event, with a month to apply for tickets, allows cricket fans in the UK and the rest of the world a great opportunity to plan their tournament.”
