Football fans in Qatar will be offered free tickets or refunds as compensation after missing the start of a top-flight game due to a printing error on match tickets.
An incorrect kick-off time was displayed on tickets for last weekend’s top-flight Qatar Stars League game between Al Arabi and Al Sadd, who include former Barcelona and Spain star Xavi.
QSL chief executive Hani Taleb Ballan said an internal investigation was underway under his direct supervision over the mistake.
Ballan said the error was “considered a joint one between the employee responsible for the system and the QSL Marketing & Communications Department”.
Qatar is to host the Fifa World Cup in 2022.
