50-50 ticketing split confirmed in Scottish football showpiece

Aberdeen has secured a 50-50 split of tickets for the Scottish League Cup final against Scottish Premier League football club Celtic.

There had been fears that Aberdeen would be given a smaller allocation than larger club Celtic for the match at Hampden Park in Glasgow on Sunday, November 27.

As reported by TickTechNews.com yesterday (Tuesday), Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes had insisted that “parity must be seen to take place” with the allocations.

“Anything other than 50-50 would be a disgrace in my view,” he said.

The Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) has now confirmed that an agreement has been reached between the two clubs and the Hampden Park safety officer on the split.

Tickets will range from £10 to £35 for adults, and £5 to £15 for under-16s.

SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: “The SPFL would like to congratulate both Aberdeen and Celtic for making it to the first showpiece final of the Scottish football season, with its return to a pre-Christmas date proving very popular with supporters. We are pleased to announce that both clubs will enjoy an equal share of tickets.”

Further information about the ticket-sales process will be announced by both clubs.
