Amazon splashes out on exclusive access to Brooks catalogue

Amazon Music Unlimited, a sister company of Amazon Tickets, has signed up Garth Brooks, the top-selling solo artist in US history, for exclusive distribution of his catalogue.

Brooks’ music is now exclusively available to stream on Amazon Music, a subscription service that launched last week.

The service is available for $9.99 per month, or $7.99 for customers of the Amazon Prime expedited delivery service.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed, but the Music Business Worldwide website said that Brooks (pictured) had been rumoured to be seeking up to $30m for his catalogue earlier this year.
