Movie ticketing app Atom Tickets is to offer thousands of free cinema tickets each Friday through a new nationwide campaign in the US.

The Free Movie Friday promotion, which launches today, will offer thousands of tickets every Friday for an entire year across iHeartMedia's 500 radio stations and digital platforms. The radio network has more than a quarter of a billion monthly listeners in the US.

Atom said iHeartMedia Listeners will have the opportunity to win a free pair of tickets to a movie of their choice at any of the 15,000 theatres it is partnered with.

"We're beyond excited to team up with iHeartMedia for Free Movie Friday," said Matthew Bakal, executive chairman and co-founder of Atom Tickets. "With their dedicated listeners and unparalleled reach, they're the ideal partner to introduce Atom Tickets to a wider audience of movie fans across the nation. We're happy to offer those fans the chance to see a movie on us."

Atom recently added Kerasotes Showplace Theatres and Emagine Entertainment to its existing theatre partners such as Regal Cinemas, AMC Theatres and Studio Movie Grill.

Greg Ashlock, iHeartMedia president, said: "We're always looking for creative ways to engage and reward our listeners with products and services that are most relevant to them. Partnering with Atom Tickets does just that and enhances the excitement and social aspect of going to the movies."
