Cubs tickets top MLB post-season secondary price charts

Tickets for Chicago Cubs home games remain the most expensive of any Major League Baseball team on secondary exchanges for the Championship Series.

According to data from ticket reseller TicketIQ, which looked at the average secondary ticketing prices for teams that feature in the end-of-season Championship Series, ticket prices peaked for the Cubs last year at $1,051.70 (£864.33/$956.33).

This season’s Championship Series – the semi-final of the post-season ahead of the World Series – features the Los Angeles Dodgers (pictured) versus the Cubs and the Toronto Blue Jays versus the Cleveland Indians.

However, Cubs tickets for this season’s series on secondary websites are currently being sold for an average of $914.08.

Tickets for the Cubs, which have famously failed to win a World Series since 1908, are considerably more expensive than those for Cleveland Indians home fixtures in the series – $384. Blue Jays tickets are being sold for an average of $369.83 and Dodgers home tickets are being sold for an average of $344.23.

The Blue Jays last won the World Series in 1993, five years after the most recent triumph for the Dodgers. The Indians have not won the World Series since 1948.
