Egyptian football club Al Ahly has announced plans to introduce an online ticketing service.
It is hoped that the service, which will be available via the club’s website, will ease congestion on match days and make safety, security and “attendance procedures” more efficient, Al Ahly said.
“Al Ahly is the first club in the Middle East to apply such technology,” the club’s executive director, Sherin Shams, said during a press conference to reveal the move.
“This mechanism has been launched after a series of meetings with officials from the Egyptian Football Association and the Interior Ministry.
“We hope the association supports us in applying the service through an online database because the upcoming period needs cooperation from all.”
