Gladbach to refund all who attended postponed City game

Borussia Monchengladbach are to reimburse the cost of all their travelling fans’ tickets following the postponement of their Uefa Champions League game against Manchester City earlier this week.

The German club was supposed to play City at the Etihad stadium on Tuesday, but a torrential downpour led to the game being rescheduled for Wednesday.

Due to return flights, many Gladbach fans were not able to attend the game, which they eventually lost 4-0. However, the club refunded all fans regardless of whether they were able to stay for the rescheduled match.

City also refunded home fans that could not attend on Wednesday. The Manchester Evening News newspaper reported that the club was “not actively advertising the fact” it was issuing refunds and that fans had to “contact them directly requesting one”.
