Grassroots venue ticket offering launched by MVT

Three new initiatives, including a new ticket offering for small venues called TicketWeb Backline, were unveiled by Music Venue Trust (MVT) founder and chief executive Mark Davyd at the third edition of the annual Venues Day event in London yesterday (Tuesday).

TicketWeb Backline, which has been developed through a collaboration between TicketWeb, the MVT and .tickets, has been launched specifically for grassroots venues and promoters, according to the Music Week website.

The service offers reduced booking fees, assistance with performing right responsibilities and a Maintain Sustain Fund, which allows for a fixed customer contribution with each ticket.

Davyd also announced a new audio-visual initiative called Sound And Vision, and confirmed an expansion into Northern Ireland for the music charity Help Musicians UK, which provides support for working and retired musicians in terms of health and welfare.

Sound And Vision is “like DIY SOS for music venues,” he added.

The MVT was founded in 2014 and its artist patrons include Enter Shikari, Frank Turner and Savages.
