Orlando MLS team sell out season tickets

Orlando City, the Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise, has sold out its entire season-ticket allocation for the first season at its new Orlando City stadium.

The club is to move to the custom-built, soccer-specific arena, which has a capacity of 25,500, from the 2017 season.

Orlando has played at the Camping World Stadium since it entered the MLS in 2015, and it average attendance of 32,000 ranks the team second among all MLS clubs.

The club said that with individual season tickets sold out, the only way to ensure a ticket to every 2017 City home game is by purchasing a suite or by becoming an Audi Sport Club member. It also said members of LionNation, its supporters’ club, will have priority access to purchase 2017 single game tickets.

Orlando City founder and president Phil Rawlins said the selling out of season tickets will inspire the team on the field.

“This should be an incredibly gratifying accomplishment for our fans because it means they have set a tone for a sold out crowd for every MLS match,” Rawlins said. “That’s guaranteed energy and guaranteed elevated noise levels for every match.

“Our fans, partners and teams can be proud of this milestone as we continue to get closer to finalising stadium construction.”
