The Cincinnati Reds North American Major League Baseball franchise is offering fans the chance to win a free season-ticket and other prizes in a competition that puts them in a league of their own.
The team is to give free 2017 passes to anyone who hits one of three pitches over the fence at its Great American Ball Park home stadium.
The ‘Swing for your Seats’ event is to take place on October 8, with hitters taking on an automatic pitching machine. To take part fans must either have bought a season ticket or put down a deposit on a renewal.
The Reds said: “Even those who don’t hit the ball over the fence could win prizes as various targets will be set up in the outfield. Anyone who hits the outfield wall on the fly will get a free luxury suite for a game next season, too.”
