Refund for NFL fans after Charlotte cancellation

NFL American football fans who bought tickets for the ACC Football Championship Game will be offered a full refund after the game was switched from Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) chose to move its title game from the Bank of America Stadium due to North Carolina’s controversial ‘Bathroom Bill’, which is seen to discriminate against transgender people.

Fans who previously purchased tickets for this year’s game will be given priority on purchasing tickets at the new venue, which is yet to be confirmed, before they go on sale to the general public.

The ACC said it will refund base price, taxes and service charges to anyone who bought tickets through official channels. It said all tickets purchased through Ticketmaster or the Charlotte Sports Foundation are in the process of being refunded, while customers who purchased their tickets from other outlets should contact their point of purchase for a refund.

An ACC statement read: “The Atlantic Coast Conference greatly appreciates the loyalty and support of those who purchased their tickets early, and will begin processing full refunds immediately, which should post within five to seven business days.
