Refunds cause confusion for Australian Adele fans

Some tickets for Adele’s 2017 tour of Australia are reportedly being refunded without explanation, leaving many fans unsure of whether they have secured spots to see the pop singer perform.

According to Daily Mail Australia, the refunds for the sold-out shows were processed by Ticketek less than 24 hours after the fans thought they had secured tickets.

Tickets went on sale yesterday (Monday) morning and sold out within 90 minutes, with hundreds of tickets appearing at inflated prices on secondary websites within minutes.

As reported by TickTechNews.com yesterday, tickets for some of the shows were being sold for up to 18 times their original face value.

All tickets were originally priced between Aus$101.74 and Aus$305.64.

The newspaper said that a number of fans had taken to social media to express their disappointment.

The tour, which will take place in March, was announced earlier this month. Ticketek was responsible for selling tickets for shows in Adelaide and Sydney, while Ticketmaster was selling seats for the shows in Melbourne, Perth and Woolloongabba.

Owing to the high demand, second shows have been added in Brisbane and Melbourne.
