Robbie Williams fans can now access exclusive content from the star through their concert tickets thanks to a link up between Ticketmaster and music and visual recognition app Shazam.
Ticketmaster’s Collector Ticket – which scooped the Product Innovation Award at the 2016 Ticketing Technology Awards – has been enhanced ahead of Williams’ 2017 tour, and will feature exclusive content and offers.
Collector Ticket is a credit card-sized ticket on a lanyard that comes with a ticket barcode which, when scanned, offers entry to a show like a traditional paper ticket. Activating the card – which costs fans £5.95 on top of standard entry – through Shazam will now unlock Williams goodies, connecting physical tickets to digital content.
“Robbie Williams is one of the UK's most successful and innovative performing artists,” said Sam Isles, VP artist services at Ticketmaster.
“His 2017 Heavy Entertainment Show tour promises to be his most inventive yet, and the interactive Collector Ticket is a perfect addition to that. It represents a great way for fans to get closer to the artist and enjoy owning a concert ticket like never before."
