Mixed martial arts organisation Alliance MMA has appointed Jason Robinett as its new chief technology officer.
Robinett will be responsible for creating a fully-integrated IT infrastructure that merges Alliance's CageTix electronic ticketing platform with its Go Fight Live! video production and content distribution operation.
CageTix currently partners with approximately 40 different promoters across the US. Robinett plans to extend the existing platform to include an online e-ticket capability, with the aim of providing smartphone users with a more convenient way to find, purchase and redeem tickets.
Robinett was previously employed by Expedia, where he served as chief information security officer, and at Watermark Estate Management Services, which oversees many of Bill Gates' personal and family matters, as director of technology services.
“My goal is to make Alliance MMA's systems as simple and efficient as possible,” Robinett said.
“Simplifying the internal data collection and reporting functions will allow our regional promoters to focus exclusively on fighters and event operations, and in turn, provide fans with the best possible product at a higher level of perceived value.
“Once that initial objective is achieved, I plan to focus on bringing technological innovation to Alliance MMA's electronic ticketing and video production and content distribution operations.”
Robinett will also assist in Alliance's current implementation of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, a cloud-based enterprise resource planning solution, to boost the company's event-promoting, corporate purchasing, accounting, tax, audit, and regulatory compliance requirements.
“We are extremely pleased that Jason is joining the Alliance MMA team to serve as the primary architect of all of our IT-based enterprise assets,” Alliance MMA chief executive and chairman of the board, Paul Danner, said.
“His extensive working knowledge of complex technology systems is exactly what Alliance needs to fully develop the myriad of complimentary benefits of our ticketing and video distribution operations, as well as automating the accounting and reporting processes associated with our geographically dispersed promotion activities.”
