Scottish football club offers five-year ticket prize

Scottish Premiership top-tier football club Ross County is offering fans the chance to win a free season ticket for the next five seasons.

The Global Energy Stadium club is marking its fifth consecutive campaign in the Scottish top-flight by offering a prize worth around £2,000, and also includes admission to the club’s hospitality suite.

Fans who renew their season tickets will automatically be entered into the prize draw.

Ross County chairman Roy MacGregor said: “We have already witnessed a 10% increase on new season ticket sales from this time last year. This is a way to give something great back to one lucky fan.”

Meanwhile, English third-tier League One football club Chesterfield has apologised to fans after the winning entry in a £20 raffle to follow the team on its pre-season tour of Hungary was faked.

The club initially said the competition winner had been too ill to travel, however director Ashley Carson later explained the “winning entry was not legitimate” and the information supplied to the club’s communications department had “clearly been falsified”.

Carson apologised to the supporters who entered, and said a full review will be held.
