Slipknot free tickets offered after Snoop no-show

Music fans have been offered free entry to watch heavy metal band Slipknot after a Snoop Dogg gig was cancelled in El Paso, Texas.

The El Paso County Coliseum made the offer after the rap star failed to appear as the opening night headliner at the Texas Tattoo Showdown Festival last week.

The venue said patrons with a wristband for last Friday or a three-day entry wristband could trade them for a pair of tickets to see Slipknot this week.

“Though we are just the venue that hosted the (tattoo) event, we value our patrons,” said Brian Kennedy, president of the El Paso Sports Commission, in a statement. “We were just as disappointed to not see Snoop Dogg at the event at the El Paso County Coliseum on Friday."

George Galindo, founder of the Texas Tattoo Showdown Festival, has said that he is working on a make-up concert with Snoop Dogg at a later date. Patrons with a festival wristband would get in free, but no refunds are being offered for the festival tickets.
