Sundance festival organisers select TopTix for online ticketing

TopTix, a supplier of software for ticketing and customer relationship management, has been selected by the Sundance Institute to be integrated into the Sundance Film Festival online programme guide.

The annual festival in Utah, US, attracts 46,000 people from around the world who purchase individual tickets, ticket packages, passes and credentials.

The tie-up will allow the institute to simplify its online ticketing experience, as well as integrate the ticketing process with the festival’s mobile application. TopTix will also support the festival’s e-waitlist system.

The institute said that TopTix had been selected following an “intensive selection process”.

“Sundance Institute has a broad audience of film-lovers, press, industry, volunteers and members from around the world,” the institute’s associate director of ticketing, Linda Pfafflin, said.

“We were looking for a system that could scale with us to accommodate the unique needs of all of our constituents and provide a seamless purchase experience for the Sundance Film Festival.

“We really liked the flexibility and configurability of SRO4 and its ability to handle a large volume of concurrent customer transactions.”

Online sales for the festival launched on Wednesday, with individual tickets for a national audience going on sale on January 17. TopTix has been working with the institute on the platform since June.
