Eventbrite has been named the most popular platform in a survey of 400 event management software users.
Some 17% of those that responded favoured the ticketing and organising platform, with EventPro Planner at 15%, XING at 9% and Eventzilla at 7%.
The majority of those surveyed by Capterra, a free software research and comparison website, were event marketing executives, with just 10% involved in organising meetings. It is thought respondents were therefore primarily concerned with consumer marketing events rather than the meetings and conferences that typically fall under a strategic meetings management umbrella and for which planners employ software that includes site-search, RFP, budgeting, and reporting capabilities.
The Capterra research found that more than half of respondents spent less than three months researching and demoing software products before either purchasing them or choosing to use them.
Capterra noted that the most interesting finding may be that 56% of initial respondents to the survey did not use event management software.
