GAA fans hit out at All-Ireland season-ticket hike

Fans have expressed their disappointment after the price of a 10-year All-Ireland ticket for Gaelic Athletic Association championship events increased from €2,500 (£2,100/$2,800) to €3,500.

Some supporters have claimed that Croke Park, the venue for the season-ending GAA finals, is trying to claim back seats set aside for multi-year deals by upping prices.

One unnamed fan told the Irish Independent newspaper: “Part of me is heartbroken at having to let the package go, but on a point of principle, I just wouldn’t pay that kind of money.”

In the space of three years, the price of a regular GAA adult season ticket has risen from €75 to €99. GAA season tickets grant the holder access to their county’s league matches, as well as semi-finals, play-offs and finals in a particular code.
