Glastonbury coach tickets sell out in 23 mins

The first tranche of Glastonbury Festival 2017 tickets sold out within 23 minutes on Thursday evening.

Around 15,000 coach and ticket packages were snapped up by music lovers after going on sale at 6pm.

Online traffic was reportedly so heavy that many would-be purchasers were unable to access the official festival website, which is powered by See Tickets.

The remaining 200,000 general admission tickets go on sale on Sunday, and are available only to those that have already registered for the event. General tickets sold out within 30 minutes last year.

Tickets for the festival cost £238, plus a £5 booking fee per ticket. The ticket price includes five nights of camping, mobile charging and a charitable donation.

Those lucky enough to secure tickets must pay a deposit of £50, with the balance to be paid next spring.
