Ticketfrog leaps on first investment

A ticketing platform that offers a free sales service to event organisers has attracted its first investors.

Switzerland-based Ticketfrog is financed exclusively by vouchers on the tickets, and does not impose any fees, credit card charges or fixed costs on the side of the organisers or the ticket vendors.

Ticketfrog's strategy is to choose the advertisement based on the type of event, with vouchers seen as an attractive form of advertisement because redeeming them encourages the user to make a purchase and their effect is measureable.

The company said the investment will be used to expand its activities, including an increase in staff numbers. It said growth and development will be possible through further financing rounds.

“The fact that we were able to rapidly bring significant investors on board proves that we are pursuing a promising idea with our 100% free-of-charge ticketing services,” said Ticketfrog chief executive Mike Müller.

“And the many event organisers already using Ticketfrog for their ticket sales as well as their extremely positive feedback shows that we have created an exceptionally attractive product for small and medium-sized events with our simple, free-of-charge ticketing service.”
