Pakistani ticket app flourishes during first year

EasyTickets, the Pakistan-facing platform founded by entrepreneur Monis Rahman, sold more than 10,000 tickets and attracted 50,000 registered users during its first year of operations.

In data released to celebrate the 12 months since it was launched, the mobile vendor of event and cinema tickets said it has now integrated movie theatres from 12 different Pakistani cities.

EasyTickets, whose head Rahman is the founder of Pakistani recruitment giant Naseeb Networks, also said it has gained signups at a 41 per cent monthly increase rate.

A company spokesman said: “EasyTickets has a unique mobile wallet solution, a reserve which can be topped up through various ways including services like CreditCard transfers, EasyPaisa, UBL Omni, JazzCash, and traditional bank transfers. After buying, the users just need to go to the designated Kiosk and scan the QR code which processes the booking electronically, with a minimum human intervention.”
