Former Live Nation chief to lead new CTS Eventim division

CTS Eventim has recruited former Live Nation Europe president Simon Lewis to lead its new marketing partnerships and sponsorship division.

The new unit, which will serve the company across Europe, has been founded to build partnerships around Eventim’s network of European festivals, concerts, venues and related digital assets.

Lewis spent more than a decade at Live Nation Europe and has also worked for Thames TV and MTV Networks Europe.

“Eventim’s substantial estate of European businesses is profoundly impressive and is set for further growth in key areas of the live entertainment market,” Lewis said. “I will greatly enjoy the motivation of representing Eventim as we build on the marketing partnerships sector in Europe’s key territories.”

The group operates numerous tours and shows in Germany, such as Rock am Ring, as well as Switzerland and Austria, and is rapidly expanding its international promotional footprint. Its portfolio also includes venues such as London’s Eventim Apollo and major ticketing brands in 25 countries, such as Eventim.de and TicketOne in Italy.

The new division will develop large-scale marketing partnerships centred on Eventim’s assets and partner with renowned global, Pan-European and national brands from a wide range of commercial sectors.

Klaus-Peter Schulenberg, chief executive of Eventim, said: “With this move we underscore our reinforced focus on direct and indirect income streams and benefits of brand partnerships and sponsoring, while at the same time leveraging our assets on a European scale.”
