Red Hot Chili Peppers headline first Lollapalooza Paris

Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline this summer’s Lollapalooza Paris, as Live Nation announced a strong line-up for the first staging of the event.

Live Nation obtained a controlling interest in C3 Presents, the promoter behind Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and several other prominent music festivals, in 2014.

Since the acquisition, Live Nation has expanded Lollapalooza to new global destinations, with the first event held in Berlin last year.

The Weeknd, Imagine Dragons, Lana Del Rey, DJ Snake and Liam Gallagher will also perform at Lollapalooza Paris, which will be held at Hippodrome de Longchamp in July.

Live Nation said: “Fans will be able to experience all that Lollapalooza has to offer, with a diverse lineup, a wide variety of French cuisine, art exhibitions, and a space dedicated to music fans that want to learn more about how to help the world around them.”

The operator also said that a family-friendly event, Kidzapalooza, will offer activities and entertainment for parents and kids. Children aged under 10 may enter Lollapalooza Paris free of charge, with a ticketed adult.

Beyond Paris, Berlin and its flagship event in Chicago, Lollapalooza also stages annual festivals in Chile, Brazil and Argentina.

Live Nation recently announced that major UK event Wireless Festival is to make its debut in Germany next summer. Download Madrid will also take place for the first time in 2017
