2018 Masters snooker tickets on sale just hours after Rocket clinches 2017 title

Tickets for the annual 2018 UK Dafabet Masters snooker event have gone on sale just hours after the 2017 championship was won by Ronnie O’Sullivan.

World Snooker said it saw record sales for the 2017 event and decided to make 2018 tickets available a full year in advance to cope with demand.

The Masters, considered one of the top three events on the calendar, is held each year at London’s 2,000-seat Alexandra Palace.

O’Sullivan, nicknamed ‘The Rocket’, beat Joe Perry 10-7 on Sunday to take the 2017 title.

A spokesman for World Snooker said: “The Dafabet Masters is one of our Triple Crown events and it is growing year after year.

“Over the past two years we have increased the capacity of the arena to 2,000 and many sessions are selling out well in advance of the tournament. This year we set new records for ticket sales which proves that the appetite of fans to see snooker live is building each year.

“That’s why we decided to get tickets for the 2018 tournament on sale as soon as possible. The 2018 Masters might seem a long way off but seats will sell rapidly so supporters must book now and then look forward to enjoying the thrill of live snooker.”
