Live Nation has acquired an interest in Metropolis Music, one of the UK’s leading independent concert and event promoters.
Following the latest M&A development for Live Nation, the company said Metropolis Music will continue to trade as separate entity with senior staff continuing in their roles.
Metropolis is a stakeholder and long-term promoter of V Festival and currently works on around 500 shows per year. Its clients include the likes of Coldplay, Robbie Williams and Eminem.
“The formation of Metropolis Music is a great venture for us, and another step in our commitment to promotions and world-class events in the UK,” said Denis Desmond, chairman of Live Nation UK.
“We’re bringing Metropolis on-board and bolstering their existing promotions expertise with Live Nation’s established frameworks, relationships, and a team of experts to grow the business together.”
Bob Angus and Raye Cosbert are to stay on as chairman and managing director respectively of Metropolis Music.
Angus said: “The team and I are excited for this new venture into Metropolis Music. We’ve been promoting events in the UK since 1985, and we look forward to providing the best for artists and fans across the UK, together as part of the Live Nation family.”
Live Nation just last week announced that it had set up a new Mountain Region division in the US after acquiring US promoter CT Touring.
