Hamilton increases $10 ticket access in US

Hamilton’s Broadway producers are to make more $10 (£8.0/€9.4) tickets available for the daily front-row lottery.

The number is to more than double from 21 to 46 from tomorrow (Tuesday).

Theatregoers whose names are selected in the digital lottery have 60 minutes to then purchase their tickets. Seats are assigned at the discretion of the box office and cannot be transferred to other people or performances.

It has also been announced that the Chicago production of Hamilton will launch its own #EduHam programme, which makes $10 tickets available to area high school students. The programme is set to release $10 tickets to 20,000 students in Chicago each year.

Producer Jeffrey Seller said: “With #EduHam and #Ham4Ham, we now sell 39,136 seats each year in NYC for $10; we will also sell 38,720 seats this year in Chicago for $10. I’m happy to report that Hamilton is, indeed, for everyone.”

Ticket for Hamilton’s run in London’s West End went on general sale earlier today (Monday).
