Super Bowl ticket prices well down on 2016

Super Bowl ticket prices are down 15 per cent year-on-year according to data from StubHub.

The ticketing site said the average price was $4,154 (£3,318/€3,861) on Thursday, which was 3 per cent lower than the previous day’s figure.

The number of tickets purchased on StubHub for Sunday’s game between New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons is up by 18 per cent compared to this time last year, which the company said “is likely due to the overall lower ticket prices this year”.

StubHub added that the least expensive ticket available for Super Bowl LI is currently $2,490 in the Upper Endzone.

It said Super Bowl 2017 tickets have sold in the range of $1,500 to $15,432. Last year at this time, the Super Bowl 50 ticket price range was between $1,040 and $27,983.

It added that almost 30 per cent of tickets have been bought in Texas, where the game is being staged.
