Mariah Carey’ll be there, but will fans?

Mariah Carey is reportedly struggling to sell concert tickets for her upcoming All the Hits tour with Lionel Richie.

Fox News reports that a buy one, get one free promotion has been introduced because Ticketmaster is attempting to ramp up slow sales for the concerts that kick off in March.

The 46-year-old ‘I’ll Be There’ singer, who has not toured North America for six years, is set to play 35 cities with Richie.

Carey’s comeback single ‘I Don’t’, which was released last week, has failed to sell well, sitting at No.55 on iTunes.

“Mariah is working enthusiastically with Live Nation and Lionel’s team to put together an outstanding tour,” a representative of Mariah Carey said. “Ticket sales are beyond great – fans are in for a real treat.”

Meanwhile, a reggae festival in New Zealand due to be headlined by Shaggy has been postponed because of poor sales.

Ragamuffin, due to be held at the Trusts Arena in Auckland later this month, will now take place in November.

Promoter Andrew McManus said that the acts booked to play have assured them they still want to play in November.

“Ticket sales for the festival have slowed in recent weeks and appear to have been impacted by various factors including an announcement that train services will now not be available on the event date due to track work being done,” said McManus.

“This will give us time to work through campaigns and the overall success of the project both in New Zealand and for associated concerts in Australia.

“We sincerely apologise for inconveniences caused by this decision. I can assure all that every aspect has been reviewed and this decision has not been made lightly.”
