US-based sports, music and entertainment company PrimeSport has appointed Tim Brosnan, a former executive with Major League Baseball (MLB), as its new executive chairman and chief executive.
Named one of the ’50 Most Influential People in Sports’ by The Sports Business Journal for eight years and ‘100 Most Powerful People in Sports’ by Sporting News for 11 years, PrimeSport said Brosnan “brings a level of unparalleled industry expertise and business acumen”.
“I am thrilled to have Tim, who I knew at MLB for more than 20 years, join our team and help PrimeSport reach the next level,” said Jeff Moorad, PrimeSport’s chairman.
Brosnan, who will be based in New York in his new role, started at the MLB in 1991 as vice-president of business affairs, before going on to become president and chief executive of MLB International just two years later.
He was later promoted to executive vice-president of business, president and chief executive of MLB Enterprises, where he oversaw all global business functions such as media rights, licensing, corporate sales, marketing, special events and the league’s MLB Charities and MLB Productions divisions. He was also among the three finalists for the MLB’s commissioner position.
PrimeSport is the hospitality and fan travel partner of more than 150 teams, leagues and events, including the NCAA, 27 college football bowl games, 14 colleges and universities, 23 auto racing partners, and golf partners such as the PGA of America.
“With this hire, PrimeSport further solidifies itself as the foremost leader in sports and entertainment experience development,” said a company spokesperson.
