StubHub converts Singapore 7s deal

StubHub has been selected to provide its ticketing portal services to the Singapore 7s rugby tournament.

The ticketing operator will allow fans from approximately 50 countries to buy tickets for the two-day event through its online platform.

In an effort to expand the tournament’s accessibility, the portal supports 36 currencies and can be accessed in over 20 languages.

Singapore 7s said that to ensure a smooth buying process, once a customer purchases a ticket it will be sent directly to the buyers’ email inbox.

“StubHub is committed to connecting people to inspiring live experiences wherever they are, whenever they want,” said Javier Corbacho, head of business development for StubHub Asia-Pacific.

The event takes place at the National Stadium in Kallang in April, with five different ticketing options for fans to choose from. Two-day season passes priced at S$150 (€100/$106) are still available, together with a handful of the additional Platinum S$300 tickets.

“Rugby is the fastest growing team sport in the world and at the Rio Olympics, Rugby Sevens recently delivered 17 million new fans to the rugby family,” chairman of Rugby Singapore Low Teo Ping said. “We now need to collectively seize the golden opportunity across the World Rugby Sevens Series and convert these rugby rookies into fans for life.

“The Singapore Rugby 7s tournament isn’t just about the rugby. It’s an entertainment package that allows fans to enjoy two fun-filled days. In Singapore, visiting fans can try enjoy delicious cuisines, amazing shopping, vibrant nightlife and the island’s other attractions, alongside the rugby.”
