Atom Tickets announces five-for-$5 Power Rangers promotion

Atom Tickets, the theatrical mobile ticketing platform, has partnered with entertainment company Lionsgate to launch the promotional programme ‘Morphin Monday’s’ ahead of Saban’s Power Rangers film.

The marketing campaign is to include exclusive content and deals every Monday leading up to the film’s release on March 24.

Atom Tickets allows users in North America to pre-order movie tickets and concessions, while the platform also provides moviegoers the option to watch trailers, read reviews and coordinate movie outings with friends while allowing each person to pay separately.

Advance tickets for the film went on sale on Monday via the Atom Tickets platform. The initial ticketing deal advertises $5 (€4.75/£4.11) tickets when a cinemagoer invites five friends to join them via the app. The app provides an integrated social experience that allows users to invite friends to the cinema without paying for them.

The programme’s viral potential extends further as each individual invited then receives the opportunity to receive their own $5 ticket by inviting five more friends to join the group. The promotional gimmick is said to play off the team of five Power Rangers.

“Atom is the only ticketing app that focuses on movies as a group experience,” said Matthew Bakal, executive chairman and co-founder of Atom Tickets.

“Pairing the social appeal of Power Rangers with our app’s proprietary invite technology, ‘Morphin Mondays’ encourages users to plan a night out with their friends to see this entertaining new film and taps into the audience’s desire for shared experiences.”

Atom late last year added Kerasotes Showplace Theatres and Emagine Entertainment to its existing theatre partners such as Regal Cinemas, AMC Theatres and Studio Movie Grill.
