Visa Checkout becomes available on StubHub app

StubHub has added Visa Checkout’s digital wallet and payment service to its mobile app.

Through an extension to their existing partnership, Visa and StubHub will also offer a series of events, promotion and offers for customers looking to buy tickets to live shows.

Visa Checkout is essentially an online credit card, with customers only needing to enter a username and password to pay for goods. Details can be saved on apps and sites, therefore simplifying the card payment process.

Customers that use Visa Checkout to pay for tickets on StubHub will be able to access benefits such as seat upgrades. StubHub users will also receive a large discount on purchases in April when using Visa’s digital wallet, repeating a popular offer the two brands first ran during the holiday season last year.

“StubHub has been a great partner, and we are thrilled [that] even more consumers will be able to get their tickets on StubHub using Visa Checkout online or in app,” said senior vice president of digital solutions at Visa, Sam Shrauger.

“As Visa Checkout approaches 20 million consumer enrolments, we look forward to our continued partnership and bringing consumers an easier way to pay on the StubHub mobile app.”

Glenn Lehrman, global head of communications at StubHub said: “We’re always looking for unique and new ways to give our fans the best possible experience — whether that’s putting them in the centre of the action, or giving them an easier way to pay, like Visa Checkout.

“This is just the beginning of how our two brands will continue cutting-edge collaboration and strive to make exclusive experiences more seamless.”

Visa also stated that to celebrate the partnership, Visa Checkout and StubHub are set to host a private concert at the Everywhere Lounge in Austin, Texas as the ticketing provider gears up for its music showcase, The StubHub LIVE: Sound Stage. The event will feature more than 28 performers over three days from March 15 to 17.
