Ticketing executive hired ahead of Nashville’s inaugural USL season

Nashville Soccer Club has announced Michael Schetzel as the club’s first vice-president of ticketing and sponsorship ahead of the club’s inaugural season in the United Soccer League (USL), the second tier of football in the US.

Ahead of Nashville’s debut in the USL in 2018, Schetzel will bring a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as Major League Soccer club Real Salt Lake’s vice-president of ticket and sales service.

During his employment at the MLS franchise, Schetzel’s department won numerous business awards within the league. He also previously worked in a similar role with Major League Baseball franchise the Boston Red Sox.

“Wherever he has been, Michael has a proven track record of bringing a service-first approach to his department and, most importantly, the loyal fan base,” said Court Jeske, Nashville SC’s chief executive.

“He knows how to engage the various needs of our members and is the right person to help us build a strong, passionate fan base that will deliver a world-class match-day experience for Nashville.”

Schetzel, who is fluent in Spanish, has also previously worked as a director of sales and marketing for Madison Square Garden, as a consultant for the Arizona Coyotes NHL ice hockey team, as vice-president of ticket sales and client services for the women’s NBA basketball franchise the Dallas Wings, and as vice-president of corporate partnerships for the East Coast Hockey League’s Utah Grizzlies.
