Chilli Tickets bought out by UK Asian radio station

Chilli Tickets, the UK’s leading ticketing site for South Asian events, has been acquired by LycaRadio, the Asian music station.

Chilli Tickets sells tickets to more than 300 events across the UK each year, including Bollywood concerts, Asian club and comedy nights and wedding exhibitions.

LycaRadio, which has purchased the Chilli Tickets business and operations, said that current Chilli Tickets account manager Ricky Hamilton will be joining LycaRadio to help drive forward the operator’s development.

It explained that it hopes to use the ticketing business to offer its listeners a more comprehensive service.

Prem Sivasamy, deputy chairman of Lyca Group, said: “This is an exciting new venture for us into the South Asian events market, bringing our extensive customer base access to over 300 unmissable events a year.

“This development further demonstrates Lyca Group’s commitment to making it easier for our customers to connect with their communities, whether that’s at a classic Bollywood concert or an Asian dating event.”

Chilli Tickets, which was founded in 2006, believes the acquisition will strengthen its position as the UK’s leading gateway for secure ticket sales for South Asian events.

Chilli Tickets founder Pali Banwait, who currently serves as director, said: “It’s been exciting to see what began as a humble project between friends grow and develop to the level it is now at. I’m very much looking forward to the business’s future under LycaRadio, whose span and manpower means it now has the opportunity to fulfil its potential and grow to the next level as the UK’s leading marketplace for South Asian events.”
